Protect Online Testing: Respondus

Respondus products are used to help protect the integrity of online exams. LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within a learning management system. Students are unable to copy, print, access other applications, or visit other websites during an online exam. Respondus Monitor is a companion application for LockDown Browser that uses webcam and video technology to prevent cheating during online exams. Respondus Monitor integrates seamlessly with Blackboard, and is ideal for non-proctored testing environments.

For Students:

What is the institution-specific download link to the Odessa College Respondus Lockdown Browser? (This is the link that you will need to provide to your students!) http://www.respondus.com/lockdown/information.pl?ID=495640301

There are three steps that students need to follow in order for Respondus Lockdown Browser to work for them properly: DOWNLOAD the install file from the institution-specific download link, INSTALL the downloaded file to the device that they’re using, and LAUNCH the browser to log into Blackboard. If you are afraid that students might be confused by this process, make sure they watch the video link below. Also provide them with the “How To” document attached below.
